How the MCP server works

Optimetrix runs its own MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. MCP is the open standard that lets an AI assistant call external tools. Optimetrix's server exposes read-only, aggregated workforce data as MCP tools.

Properties

  • Read-only. No tool changes anything.
  • Aggregated. Answers are team- and period-level; no per-person minute logs.
  • Access-scoped. The connection is tied to a user; answers respect that user's role.
  • Metadata only. Same data model as the dashboards — app, category, focused vs idle time.

It ships with the pilot. Ask support for your workspace's MCP endpoint and key.
