Workload balance

Workload balance is how evenly active time is spread across a team.

What to look at

  • The distribution, not the mean. A team at 78% average can be five people near 78% or two at 95% and three at 65%.
  • People consistently 15–20 points above the team mean — the early-warning list.
  • Trend over weeks, not a single week.

Acting on it: workload data tells you who is carrying too much; the fix is scope, timeline or headcount — not asking the team to run hotter.
